The 2020 Book Challenge concluded on April 19 and we raised over $53,000. That’s enough to pay for more than 18,500 books for young readers across Oregon in the 2020-21 school year. Thank you for your generous support!
The sites with the highest percentages of volunteer participation, and receiving the additional book giveaway day, in this year’s Challenge are:
• Astor Elementary, Astoria
• Awbrey Park Elementary, Eugene
• Baker Head Start, Salem
• Bear Creek Elementary, Bend
• Bridgeport Elementary, Tualatin
• Clemons Primary School, Philomath
• Coos Bay South Coast Head Start, Coos Bay
• Creston Elementary, Portland
• East Primary School, Sutherlin
• Gearhart Elementary, Bly
• Glide Elementary, Glide
• Grandhaven Elementary, McMinnville
• Greenway Elementary, Beaverton
• Griffin Creek Elementary, Medford
• Healy Heights Head Start, Bend
• Madison Elementary, Coos Bay
• Mid Valley Elementary, Hood River

This year, we also added a prize for the one site, statewide, with the highest average gift. That award goes to Ashland Head Start in Ashland!
Note: With schools closed for the remainder of the school year, we’ve decided to award these additional books in the fall.
Congratulations, and thank you, to everyone who participated!
